About Us

The foundation was established by Esther Harvey, and children Meghan and Jim Roscoe, Keith and Vanessa Harvey and Shannon Harvey in honor of her husband and the children's father Kevin Harvey. Kevin was diagnosed with FTD in 2007 at the age of 52. Their lives are forever changed but the family stands committed in their quest to honor Kevin's memory with the dignity and respect Kevin so rightly deserves.  Although their lives have changed, their love has not, and it is with that commitment they formed The Connecticut Frontotemporal Dementia Foundation, Inc.

The Connecticut Frontotemporal Dementia Foundation's mission is to:

  • promote the funding necessary for research in finding the cause, therapies, and cures for FTD
  • support those diagnosed with FTD along with their families and caregivers
  • educate health professionals so that they have the knowledge and skills to work with FTD patients and families
  • advocate with Public Officials to provide adequate and appropriate programs and services
